An Introduction to Collections

Collections: Advanced Topics

1. Register and Login

First make sure you're registered and logged in. Registration is free, and you need to be logged in so that we know who you are and you can manage your personal collections.

2. Collect

Any time you find a program you want to see or hear at a later time, click on the Collect button underneath the program's icon. The program will instantly be added to your first personal collection, which is named My Queue.

To see the current contents of your My Queue collection, click on the My SpokenWord link in the menu bar or in the top-right corner of any page.

3. Subscribe

You probably already use iTunes, Google Reader, My Yahoo! or some other RSS reader or podcatcher to subscribe to your favorite podcasts.

Now you can subscribe to your My Queue collection using iTunes or any other podcatcher software. You'll find short-cut links for many popular podcatchers like Google Reader. Finally, if your podcatcher isn't listed, you can subscribe to the generic RSS feed by clicking on the RSS link.

That's it! You've now created and subscribed to your My Queue collection. Any programs you add to your My Queue collection will automatically appear in iTunes (and hence on your iPod) or other podcatcher tool.

To learn even more about ways to use your My Queue and other collections read the Advanced Collection FAQ page .
